Christmas services are always a special time at KingsHill, Mereworth and West Peckham churches. There is always a wide range of services with something for everyone, old and young, modern or traditional, noisy or quiet and contemplative. It is almost December and before we know it we will be into the Christmas season…. We have a lot of exciting activities and services over Christmas. So here is a full list of what is on – we will be providing updates and reminders during December. Today is a big anniversary and the news channels will be full of images to remind us of the tragic events in Dallas 50 years ago…. Anniversaries are very important to people, even if they celebrate events which took place long ago. 2 weeks ago we celebrated Remembrance Sunday at St. Lawrence’s church (Mereworth) and this event has become more (not less important) in recent years despite the passing of the last few survivors who actually remember the 1918 Armistice in recent years. This afternoon was the West Peckham Christingle service at St. Dunstan’s church. Here are some pictures if you were unlucky enough to miss the service. There is still a Christmas Day service tomorrow at 10am if you would like to make a West Peckham service part of your Christmas. It was fantastic to see the church lit up and to be able to raise money for the children’s service.
Midnight Mass at Mereworth is a really special way to welcome start your Christmas. The service starts at 11:30 pm tonight and everyone is welcome. Just turn up and enjoy…

Music plays a very central part in our church life at Mereworth, West Peckham and KingsHill. It forms the backdrop of many of our weekly services and December features some especially magical services with candles and Carols. Today is the day that the church celebrates St Cecilia, the patron saint of Muscians. Like many Saints, she was a Christian matyr in Roman times who met her death around 230 and sang God’s praises as she died.
