The Rochester Cathedral Voluntary Choir will be singing at an extra special service of Evensong at St. Lawrence’s church on Sunday 17 May, starting at 6.00 pm (please note the correct time is 6pm – a typo meant it was incorrect in the local press). Choral Evensong is one of the most popular services and really brings alive the church. We do not have a regular evening service. So this will be an extra special service. We hope to see you there.

His funeral at St. Dunstan’s was a very emotional and moving event, and we laid him to rest in St Dunstan’s churchyard. So the Sunday service will be a special service to remember Frederick and all the other victims of the Earthquake. Haiti is still scarred by the disaster, with many people still living without home or shelter, and many living with physical disabilities as a consequence of that fateful … Continue reading
The Church’s successful twitter campaign, #Christmasmeans will be running again this year giving congregations and individuals across the country a chance to show what Christmas means to them, with image, videos and 140 character reflections. Last year more than four million people connected with #Christmasmeans with short videos, pictures from Christmas services and Bible verses. “We are delighted that #Christmasmeans gives us this opportunity for parishes to take the good news of the first Christmas beyond churches and into people’s lives and homes” says the Revd Arun Arora (@RevArun), Director of Communications at the Archbishops’ Council.
Each year we hold a Comfort and Bereavement Service for our parish. This is a special service aimed at anyone who has lost someone in the few years. It is a chance to reflect, remember and pray. You do not need to be a regular church-goer or even religious to attend – everyone is welcome. This year we are very pleased that Jennifer Rees Larcombe has agreed to do a talk at our service. Jennifer may be a familiar face to many as she also regularly visits West Peckham church on her walks through the area. Jennifer is an author, international speaker, a trained bereavement counsellor and has recently opened up her … Continue reading
