Archbishop Justin and the other five Presidents of Churches Together in England released a statement today following the killing yesterday of Father Jacques Hamel in Rouen, France.
After news of the attack broke yesterday, Archbishop Justin tweeted: “Evil attacks the weakest, denies truth and love, is defeated through Jesus Christ. We pray for France, for the victims and for their communities.”
“Le mal attaque les plus faibles, nie toute vérité et amour, est vaincu par Jésus. Prions pour la France, ses victimes et ses communautés.”

This week we are praying ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ and joining in a 24/7 prayer week across the whole nation.
In Mereworth & West Peckham parishes we are praying Monday night 22.00-23.00, Tuesday night 23.00-midnight, and Wednesday night 23.00-midnight.
if you can’t make those hours, choose one hour a day, set it apart and do intentional praying. For ideas of how you can do it, and more information
The annual Rogation walk take place this weekend. It starts at 10am at Mereworth Church, walking through the farms and paths that make up the parishes of Mereworth and West Peckham.
Well-behaved pets (on leads only) welcomed. Some physical agility needed as not all the walk is on paths. We finish at West Peckham Church, at approximately 12noon, for a short communion service.
We have a special course running this year for Lent…
