‘Tsunami’ hits West Peckham church

Ivy was ripped off the walls (to reveal long covered memorials), trees were cut down, moss stripped off the memorial, and the whole churchyard tidied up. St. Dunstan’s churchyard was transformed today…

The activity was done by a large working party (I counted 20 people at one point) who spent some or all of saturday morning chopping, cutting, carrying, sweeping. We did also has some time for a drink, a chat and the famous Liz Edwards lemon drizzle cake….

Both St Dunstan’s and St. Lawrence’s rely heavily on local volunteers to maintain them (there are similar events occurring in Mereworth). So, a big thank-you to all those who helped to tidy up West Peckham church, and we hope you enjoyed the cake…
