Each year we hold a Comfort and Bereavement Service for our parish. This is a special service aimed at anyone who has lost someone in the few years. It is a chance to reflect, remember and pray. You do not need to be a regular church-goer or even religious to attend – everyone is welcome.
This year we are very pleased that Jennifer Rees Larcombe has agreed to do a talk at our service. Jennifer may be a familiar face to many as she also regularly visits West Peckham church on her walks through the area.
Jennifer is an author, international speaker, a trained bereavement counsellor and has recently opened up her home in Hildenborough to become a “house of prayer where people can find peace and sanctuary”.
Jennifer spent 8 years in a wheelchair following a virus, and has experienced a broken marriage. She is supported by a large prayer ministry team of over 30 people. “They have all experienced major loss and bereavement, but have survived and long to share with others the comfort they themselves received. They have all undergone training but their greatest qualification is that they know from experience what grief feels like!”
The service takes place at 5pm on Sunday 2 November, 5pm, West Peckham Church. We hope to see you there.
