Saint Cecilia’s Day

Music plays a very central part in our church life at Mereworth, West Peckham and KingsHill. It forms the backdrop of many of our weekly services and December features some especially magical services with candles and Carols.

Today is the day that the church celebrates St Cecilia, the patron saint of Muscians. Like many Saints, she was a Christian matyr in Roman times who met her death around 230 and sang God’s praises as she died.

You can find out more about St. Cecilia here, and there is a full list of December services on our website. Even if you never attend church during the rest of the year, you are very welcome to attend these magical, musical celebrations. We hope to welcome you to one of them.
